The prolonged trial of services was seen in the documentations relating to the all-new iPhone 18 Pro and applies to supported devices from iPhone 14 up to the iPhone 16 family.

As the extended benefit, users whose supported iPhones activated before 9th of September 2026 will continue to use the emergency SOS, send messages from satellite, track their location via Find My, and receive car service support without being prompted for a subscription on usage during the extended period.

The 2026 extension is third in a line for the iPhone 14 family that included hardware that allowed for emergency calls via satellite function upon release in 2022, it is second for the iPhone 15 and first for the iPhone 16 line-up, showing Apple’s keenness to have its users covered in case of emergencies.

Even though satellite connectivity has been defined as a service with a limited time free trial on Apple’s official website; the tech giant is yet to make the commercial costs of continuing the usage after the extended duration known for individual users.
