Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has signed the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and the United States in his capacity as a mediator, according to an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

The statement said that signatures of U.S. President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian were already present on the document before the final mediation endorsement by Pakistan.

It further stated that the United States and Iran have signed the agreement ahead of the scheduled time, formally ending the conflict and agreeing to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The MoU has now come into effect.

According to details, U.S. President Donald Trump signed the Iran–US Memorandum of Understanding in the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron.

Meanwhile, Iranian state media released images showing President Masoud Pezeshkian signing the agreement, confirming Iran’s formal participation in the peace arrangement.

Officials described the development as a significant diplomatic breakthrough aimed at ending hostilities and restoring regional stability through negotiated settlement.
