9 News HD: Saudi Aramco is looking to work with other countries to increase its strategic oil stockpile as oil demand is expected to rise after the war with Iran. CEO Amin Nasser shared this plan during an interview with Al Arabiya Business TV on Thursday.

Nasser said the company expects oil demand to increase by around 3 million barrels per day after the war. The move to expand oil stocks is part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to prepare for future supply needs and possible disruptions.

Saudi Aramco has also improved its response to incidents affecting its oil operations. Nasser said the company can now respond more than six times faster than the industry average. Saudi oil output recovered to around 8 million barrels per day in September.

During the first six months of the war, Saudi Arabia’s daily oil output stayed below 7 million barrels for most of the period. Before the war, production was above 10 million barrels per day, according to the International Energy Agency.

Aramco is using inspection drones to check damage while incidents are still taking place. The company also relies on local supplies, with around 90% of repair materials made in Saudi Arabia or stored in local warehouses.

Nasser added that Aramco is studying other routes to export oil if key shipping routes face problems. These include options beyond the Strait of Hormuz, Bab el-Mandeb and the Suez Canal.

The company says its teams can now manage several incidents at the same time. Its plans to expand oil stocks and improve export options aim to help protect supplies and respond to future challenges.
