Viral Report Card Attributed to Shehbaz Sharif Is Fake

1980-81 document conflicts with Shehbaz Sharif’s age and documented education history

 A report card circulating on social media and purportedly belonging to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has been found to be fake, with several inconsistencies exposing the document as fabricated.

The image, which has been circulating on Facebook and other social media platforms, claims to show Shehbaz Sharif’s school report card from the 1980-81 academic session.

The document identifies the student as “Shehbaz Sharif”, lists his father as “Mian Muhammad Sharif”, and gives his date of birth as 23 September 1951. It places him in Year 10-B and carries a date of 15 April 1981.

What does the viral document claim?

The purported report card shows Shehbaz Sharif receiving low marks in several subjects, including English, mathematics, science and humanities.

According to the document, he scored 177 out of 800 marks and received an overall grade of F+.

However, the dates and details mentioned in the report card contradict Shehbaz Sharif’s established biographical and educational record.

Why is the report card fake?

The most significant discrepancy concerns Shehbaz Sharif’s age.

According to the date of birth mentioned on the document, he would have been 29 years old in April 1981. The report card, however, portrays him as a Year 10 student during the same period.

Available biographical records state that Shehbaz Sharif completed his early education at Saint Anthony’s High School in Lahore and later obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Government College University, Lahore.

His documented educational history therefore does not support the claim that he was studying in Year 10 in 1981.

School names do not match

The document itself contains another major inconsistency.

The school name displayed at the top of the report card and on its crest is “Selector Science School”. However, the circular stamp appearing on the student photograph reads “Selector Grammar School Lahore.”

The use of two different school names on what is purported to be the same official academic document raises further questions about its authenticity.

Reference to “Nawaz” raises further questions

Another discrepancy appears in the handwritten teacher remarks.

Although the student-name section clearly identifies the student as Shehbaz Sharif, the handwritten remarks reportedly begin with “Nawaz ko”, referring to Nawaz rather than Shehbaz.

This further undermines the claim that the document is an authentic academic record belonging to Shehbaz Sharif.

No credible record found for the alleged school

A search for “Selector Science School” in Lahore also failed to identify any credible official or historical record linking such an institution to Shehbaz Sharif.

While the absence of an online or easily accessible record alone cannot prove that an institution never existed, there is no supporting evidence establishing the provenance of the purported report card.

AI detection tools cannot independently establish that an image is fake. However, when considered alongside the document's conflicting dates, school names, student details and educational history, the result provides additional evidence against its authenticity.
