9 News HD: Pakistan secured a thrilling one-wicket victory over England in the ODI tri-series in Lahore after a remarkable performance by Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf. The pair helped Pakistan recover from a difficult position and complete a memorable run chase at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday.

Chasing England’s target of 242 runs, Pakistan were in serious trouble after losing nine wickets for 154 runs. With the match slipping away, Shadab and Haris joined forces and kept Pakistan’s hopes alive through a record-breaking partnership.

Shadab Khan played a brilliant innings, scoring an unbeaten 113 runs off 96 balls. He struck 13 fours and five sixes, keeping the pressure on England’s bowlers until the final moments. Haris Rauf supported him with seven not out from 19 balls.

After the match, Haris revealed what he had told Shadab during their partnership. He said he believed Pakistan could win and told his teammate that he would finish the match himself.

Haris also played an important role when Shadab was given out leg-before-wicket on 97 runs. Shadab said he had not realised the ball touched his bat, but Haris encouraged him to review the decision. The review showed an inside edge, allowing Shadab to continue his innings.

The two players added an unbeaten 89 runs for the final wicket, setting a new record for the highest 10th-wicket partnership in a successful men’s ODI chase. Haris then hit the winning boundary as Pakistan reached 243 for nine in 47.1 overs.

The victory secured Pakistan’s place in the ODI tri-series final. Shadab’s century and Haris’s calm support turned a nearly lost match into one of Pakistan’s most memorable cricket wins.
